Peter, the wolf ... and Jazz!
Barely four years after it was created, the Amazing Keystone Big Band has proved it can combine both the essence and the spirit of past great bands of the swing era as well as the inventiveness, open-mindedness and impertinent virtuosity of today’s Jazz. The musicians do not merely pay a classy tribute to Count Basie, Duke Ellington, or Thad Jones. Above all, they believe that this band of carefully chosen friends allows them to experiment with their new ideas and to rethink and reinterpret a solidly established repertoire. Since 2010, the band has had the opportunity to work and play with – and write music for – world famous artists such as Gregory Porter, Cecile McLorin Salvant, Rhoda Scott, Liz McComb, Michel Hausser and Quincy Jones.
The Keystone often plays in theatres, music halls and on stage at such as the Jazz in Vienne Festival, Jazz in Marciac, The Munster Jazz Festival, the Opera houses in Lyon, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, L’Olympia (Paris), etc.
